In a repeat of last year’s IPL final, Delhi Capitals came out with a fine all- round performance and holding their nerve as well to beat beat defending Champions Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets in Chennai.
Mumbai Skipper Rohi Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. But they were rocked early with Marcus Stoinis with beauty getting Quinton De Kock for 1 . Skipper Rohit Sharma looked in ominous form before he was out for a quick 44 off 30 balls to Amit Mishra . It was the start of Mishra’s dream spell, Suryakumar Yadav was out for 24. Ishan Kishan ( 26), Hardik Pandya ( 0), Kieron Pollard ( 2) were all Mishra’s victims . Krunal Pandya ( 1) > Amit Mishra spell wrecked Mumbai Indians batting and they were tottering at 85/6 in 11.5 overs. But for Jayant Yadav ( 23) , they managed to reach a much below par total 137/9 in their 20 overs.

Chasing a not so big target Delhi were cautious given their past record against The Mumbai Indians. And knowing Chennai a not a easy wicket to bat while chasing . DC lost Prithvi Shaw early for 7 . Shikhar Dhawan survived a DRS catch review and went on to yet again anchor the innings with fine 45 off 42 balls with five fours and 1 six. Steven Smith got some runs too a 29 ball 33 with four fours , Lalit Yadav was unbeaten on 22. Skipper Rishabh Pant fell for 7 but the Mumbai Indians target was not big enough . Shimron Hetmyer unbeaten on 14 saw the Capitals home . Delhi finishing with 138/ 4 in 19.1 overs
