India bounced back to level the ODI series against Australia by winning the second ODI at Adelaide. Austrlia had won the first match of the series by runs in Sydney.
In a match played in hot weather conditions, Australia put on an impressive 298/ 9 in their allotted overs.
Shaun Marsh was brilliant with the bat scoring power packed innings of 131. Glenna Maxwell scored 48 off mere 37 balls. For India Bhuvneshwar Kumar who went for 66 runs at Sydney bowled well to get fine figures of 4/ 45.
The Indian run chase was anchored by skipper Virat Kohli , who scored a masterly 39th ODI ton a brilliant 104 off 112 balls. Mahendra Singh Dhoni , silenced critics with near run a ball innings and remained unbeaten with 55 off 54 balls and along with Dinesh Karthik 25 not out helped India home by four wickets . India finished at 299 / 4 in 49. 2 overs .
Both sides now play the final match in Melbourne
