Mumbai Indians registered their third win of the Tata IPL 2025 as they outplayed Sunrisers Hyderabad by four wickets at Wankhede. A win that was masterminded by their wily bowlers who kept the SRH batting unit under check.

Earlier MI Skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl. It was a wise move. And with a smart strategy of taking pace off while bowling MI seamers never gave SRH batsmen any room to play shots. They kept them in check. SRH could not capitalise on the catch- drops as well.

Abhishek Sharma scored a 40 ( 28 balls, 7 fours ), Tavis Head an unlikely innings 28 ( 29 balls, 3 fours ) failed to carry on despite a no-ball dismissal. Ishan Kishan stumped for ( 2). Ishan has seen slump in from after ton in first match. Nitish Reddy has not lived up to the hype created in BGT series in Australia 2024-25 was out cheaply for 19. The batting has been real let down for SRH

Heinrich Klaasen once again out in the 30s. Big scores have eluded him. It is hurting SRH big.. This time a late 37 ( 28 balls, 3 fours, 2 sixes)  His onslaught was too late for SRH.

It was left to Aniket Verma not out 18 ( 8 balls, 2 sixes) and Skipper Pat Cummins not out 8 who  finished the innings with a six that SRH huffed and puffed on way to 162/ 5 in their 20 overs.  SRH could manage 21 runs  in the 18th over and 22 in the final over only . Such was the MI bowling in this match.

In consistent SRH batting has been the real reason why the team is at the bottom of the points table .

MI bowling   – Will Jacks brilliant 2/ 14 ( 3 overs) , Deepak Chahar 0/ 47 ( 4 overs) , Trent Boult 1/ 29 ( 4 overs) , Jasprit Bumrah 1/ 21 ( 4 overs) , Hardik Pandya 1/ 41 ( 4 overs) survived a injury scare , Mitchell  Santner 0/8 ( 1 over)

In reply ,  MI were off to brisk start.  MI opened with Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma . At total of 32 , Rohit , desperate to strike form  fell for a quick 26 ( 16 balls  , 3  fours) caught by Head off Pat Cummins. Rickelton too did not last long out for 31 ( 23 balls, 5 fours) . MI despite wickets were not panicking.

Will Jacks backed  his superb bowling effort with handy contribution wit the bat  36 ( 26 balls , 3 fours, 2 sixes) , Suryakumar Yadav 26 ( 15 balls, 2 fours, 2 sixes) , Skipper Hardik Pandya 21 ( 9 balls , 3 fours, 1 six) ensued MI were on course despite their dismissals.

Naman Dhir did not disturb scorers with ( 0). Tilak Varma not out 21 ( 17 balls , 2 fours)   and Mitchell Santner not out 0  saw MI home  reaching 166/6 in 18.1 overs . It was an emphatic win . one thought MI wickets a bit many in the modest chase.

For SRH Skipper Pat Cummins was outstanding with his best figures so far 3/ 26 ( 4 overs)  . Mohammed Shami 0/ 28 ( 3 overs) struggling with  rhythm right through. SRH missing his form at the top. Eshan Malinga 2/ 36 ( 4 overs), Zeeshan Ansari 0/ 35 ( 3.1 overs). Lack of quality spinners have hurt SRH . Harshal Patel 1/ 31 ( 3 overs) , Rahul Chahar 0/9( 1 over)

MI have no won three  and puts their campaign on track . SRH have now lost  five out of seven matches.  They have to win now at at least five / six of of their  remaining seven matches to stay in play- offs hunt.  The fate of other teams , points , run- rate would now come into play.

SRH unless a miracle  stares at a  bottom placed finish this time. Time is running out for the Orange army .
