Delhi Capitals came out with clinical show with both bat and ball to thrash Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets in a Tata IPL 2025 encounter in Visakhapatnam . This was DC’s second win while SRH after winning the first have lost two in quick succession.
SRH Skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first . Cummins decision soon backfired as they lost early wickets . Abhishek Sharma’s poor run continued . This time run-out for 1 . Ishan Kishan after fab century in first match followed up with scores of 0, 2. Nitish Reddy ( 0). SRH were in big trouble at 25/ 3 in 2. 3 overs . It was soon 37/ 4 when Travis Head was out for 22 ( 12 balls , 4 fours) when the situation needed Head to stay in the middle . SRH batting plan / strategy need re-look . The damage to SRH top- order was done by Aussie Mitchell Starc who bagged 4 wickets and added one more later on to his brilliant show of 5/ 35 ( 4 overs).
SRH could reach a decent total thanks to the counter- attack by a brave one be Aniket Verma 74 ( 41 balls , 5 fours, 6 sixes) and Heinrich Klaasen 32 ( 19 balls , 2 fours, 2 sixes) . Heinrich Klaasen once again after a start failed to get big one , His failure is hurting SRH big time. So too is Abhishek Sharma’s form at the top . Pressure is too much on Travis Head. Abhinav Manohar ( 4), Pat Cummins ( 2) , Wiaan Mulder ( 9) , Harshal Patel ( 5) Mohammed Shami (1) . SRH were bowled out for 163 in 18. 4 overs.
Certainly not the batting performance that would please Cummins and Vettori . What would worry SRH is that the batting has flopped for the second time in a row . Re- think on their approach critical now going ahead.
DC bowling : Mitchell Starc outstanding with 5/ 35 ( 4 overs) , Mukesh Kumar 0/ 17 ( 2 overs) , Axar Patel 0/ 43 ( 4 overs) , Vipraj Nigam 0/ 21 ( 2 overs) , Mohit Sharma 1/ 25 ( 3 overs) , wily Kuldeep Yadav sharp as usual 3 / 22 ( 4 overs)
