Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally overcame their 17- year old jinx as they outclassed Chennai Super Kings by an impressive 50 runs in Tata IPL 2025 encounter in sultry Chennai.
Earlier at CSK Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and opted to bowl first. And RCB got off to a flyer with English opener Phil Salt making his intent clear with an aggressive 32 ( 16 balls, 5 fours, 1 six), fellow opener Virat Kohli 31 ( 30 balls , 2 fours , 1 six) , Devdutt Padikkal 27 ( 14 balls , 2 fours , 2 sixes). RCB batsmen did not let the momentum go down.
RCB Skipper Rajat Patidar then showed the way with a superb knock to push the RCB innings . Patidar was impressive in his 51 ( 32 balls , 4 fours, 3 sixes), Liam Livingstone was out for ( 10), Jitesh Sharma ( 12) , Krunal Pandya ( 0).

The RCB innings towards the end were boosted by a brilliant cameo and unbeaten one by big Aussie Tim David. David’s blitz 22 not out ( 8 balls , 1 four, 3 sixes) helped RCB reach an impressive 196/ 7 in their 20 overs.

RCB bowlers did well to restrict the CSK to 146/ 8 in their 20 overs.
Kiwi Rachin Ravindra, opener, with wickets falling around him stood firm and ended up as the was the top scorer for the CSK with 41 ( 31 balls , 5 fours)
