In yet another run- feast at Bengaluru, Sunrisers Hyderabad came out with a spectacular batting display to beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 25 runs in Tata IPL 2024 encounter .
Desperate for a win RCB skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad. And SRH batting line-up which has batted fearlessly in the tournament gave yet another breathtaking display of power batting . Openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head made their intent clear from the start – aggression. And the aggression stayed till the end of their innings .
RCB bowlers were hammered all over with utter disdain . Abhishek Sharma scored 34 ( 22 balls , 2 fours 2 sixes). The duo set the platform for a massive total with a superb opening stand of 108-1, in mere 8.1 overs. It was sensational stuff .
Travis Head dazzled all with his blistering Strokeplay. Head was simply unstoppable and smashed a blazing 102 (41 balls , 9 fours , 8 sixes) .
The SRH batting onslaught continued with another big- hitter Heinrich Klaasen promoted to number 3 to keep the aggression going. Heinrich Klaasen did not disappoint as he blasted a typical power innings scoring 67 ( 31 balls , 2 fours, 7 sixes). South African Aiden Markram not out 32 ( 17 balls , 2 fours, 2 sixes) and Abdul Samad too joined the party and remained unbeaten towards the end with a brilliant cameo 37 ( 10 balls , 4 fours, 3 sixes).
SRH in the process becoming the team scoring the highest total in IPL history. They beat their previous record of 277 this year against the Mumbai Indians. SRH finishing at an imposing 287/ 3 in their 20 overs. RCB bowlers had no clue as to where to bowl. It was poor bowling.
RCB bowling figures said it all : Will Jacks 0/ 32 ( 3 overs) , Reece Topley 1/ 68 ( 4 overs), Yash Dayal 0/51 ( 4 overs), playing his first game Lockie Ferguson 2/ 52 ( 4 overs), Vijaykumar Vyshak 0/ 64 ( 4 overs), Mahipal Lomror 0/ 18 ( 1 overs)
Chasing a mammoth total, RCB were off to a flying start as they had no option given the high run- rate needed per over. Both batsmen need to fire from both ends . Virat kohli was positive and in- from started well . Kohli threatened to score big but scored an attacking innings nevertheless be fore he was out 42 ( 20 balls , 6 fours 2 sixes) . He and RCB Skipper Faf du Plessis put on in fast pace saw RCB reach 80-1, 6.2 overs before Virat fell . Will Jacks was run-out for 7 . Rajat Patidar was out for 9.
The big asking rate was too much for RCB batting line- up. RCB Skipper Faf du Plessis played well for his attacking 62 ( 28 balls , 7 fours , 4 sixes) before he was dismissed by rival SRH Skipper Pat Cummins.

Saurav Chauhan was out for 0 trapped leg before By Pat Cummins . The SRH Skipper once again made astute bowling changes . RCB batsmen crumbled against the pressure and regular wickets hurt them hard .
Mahipal Lomror was out for 19 bowled by Cummins .
Dinesh Karthik played yet another blinder of an innings a stunning power- packed knock of 83 ( 35 balls , 5 fours , 7 sixes) . DK was the 7th batsman out at the total of 244/ 7 .

Anuj Rawat remained not out on 25 ( 14 balls , 5 fours) . RCB managing to reach 262/ 7 in their 20 overs. SRH winning by 25 runs.
