Royal Challengers Bangalore will now play the Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 for a place in the final against Gujarat Titans on May 29 of the Tata IPL 2022. In the knock-out eliminator match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata where the match was delayed due to rain , RCB held their nerves to win a high scoring thriller.
Put into bat by LSG skipper K L Rahul, RCB began is disastrous note losing Skipper Faf du Plessis for golden duck . But a charged up Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar put the innings back on track with 72 runs second wicket stand when Kohli fell for ( 25). Patidar on the other hand was in sublime form. Glenn Maxwell fell for Just ( 9) , Mahipal Lomror for (14). As wicket fell around him Patidar showed no pressure as he blasted the LSG bowlers all around the ground in his sensational knock . Patidar was sensational virtually batted LSG out of the game . It proved to be the difference. The Eden crowd were treated by Patidar’s brilliance a stunning 54 ball unbeaten 112 (12 fours, 7 sixes). Having cruised to his half-century in 28 balls, he took another 21 balls to reach his maiden hundred in T20s.

In splendid form and finishing off in style and earning a India call, Dinesh karthik gave the RCB innings yet another blazing finish towards the end . Karthik was not out 37 ( 23 balls, 5, fours, 1 six) and with Patidar added 92 in 41 balls . It demoralised LSG bowlers who were let down by really sloppy fielding. The fielding blunders saw LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir lose his cool and shake his head in dismay. Patidar was dropped thrice .It cost LSG dearly . Patidar’s power ton and Karthik’s late assault saw RCB reach a mammoth 207/ 4 in 20 overs. RCB scored 84 runs in the last five overs to prop up the total.
For LSG , seamer Mohsin Khan was was in exception with figures of 1/ 25 (4 overs) . The rest struggled on the big day. Dushmantha Chameera 0/54 (4 overs), Krunal Pandya 1/39 (4 overs) , Avesh Khan 1/ 44 (4 overs), Ravi Bishnoi 1/ 45 ( 4 overs)
Chasing a big target LSG needed a good start , But they lost Quinton de Kock early for ( 6). Manan Vohra son fell for ( 19) with total at 41. Skipper K L Rahul kept the fight with a fine 58 ball 79 ( 3 fours, 5 sixes), Deepak Hooda too gave support with a 26 ball 45 ( 1 four, 4 sixes) . But efforts of Rahul, Hooda was simply not enough. The rest could not handle the pressure Marcus Stoinis ( 9), Krunal Pandya ( 0). LSG finishing at 193/ 6 in their 20 overs. RCB winning by 14 runs.

For RCB , Aussie Josh Hazelwood has made a difference in their bowling this season. He came up with yet another fine show 3/ 43 ( 4 overs). With good support from Mohammed Siraj 1/ 41 ( 4 overs), Shahbaz Ahmed 0/ 35 ( 4 overs), , Wanindu Hasaranga 1/42 ( 4 overs), Harshal Patel was superb 1/ 25 ( 4 overs)
