Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud inaugurated a new ‘accessibility help desk’ and ‘media enclosure’ inside the Supreme Court campus.
The help desk is near the e-Sewa Kendra and the media enclosure is by the apex court’s lawns.
Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud later speaking to ANI said , “We’ve opened an Accessibility Help Desk, this is in continuation of our mission which began with the submission of our report by the committee chaired by Justice Ravindra Bhatt. The Committee made various suggestions for making the Supreme Court accessible for people with special needs, not just the differently abled but senior citizens, pregnant women and all those people who require special assistance. Now, we have a one-stop facility where all the services will be available. This is just the beginning, we are implementing the other recommendations made by the committee which consists of experts and stakeholders.”
