One person was killed and another one injured in a communal clash in Khambhat city of Gujarat during a procession taken out on the occasion of Ram Navami on Sunday, while Himmatnagar city in the state also witnessed violence between members of two communities during a similar event, police said.
In Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone city, stones were hurled at a Ram Navami procession on Sunday triggering incidents of arson wherein some vehicles were set on fire, prompting authorities to clamp curfew in three areas and Section 144 of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in the entire city.
“77 people arrested so far. SP injured after he was shot with a taser, can call it bullet too. 6 more police personnel injured, they are stable. A person not from police has a severe head injury” Madhya Pradesh Minister Narottam Mishra told ANI

According to CNN-IBN report, Tension prevailed in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga district after incidents of stone pelting and arson during Ram Navami fair on Sunday in Hirahi-Hendlaso village.
Additional forces have been deployed. Senior officers including two DIG and three SP are deployed in the area. Situation is being monitored and action is being taken accordingly. Sections 144 has been imposed in affected area, Jharkhand Police told ANI
In West Bengal leader of the opposition, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari claimed that a procession on Ram Navami was attacked by police in Howrah.
