Amidst the Rajathan political crisis, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in a show of strength claimed he had the support of 109 MLA’s of the party after CLP meeting at his residence.
Meanwhile in attempt to woo Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, the party’s chief spokesperson and sent as an observer Randeep Surjewala told reporters that doors are open for Sachin Pilot and other MLA here ahead of a crucial state legislature party meeting.
Surjewala stated : “If anyone is upset in family, they should find a solution by sitting with members of the family…On behalf of Congress leadership, including Sonia ji & Rahul ji, I convey that doors of Congress party are always open for Sachin ji or any member”. Attacking the BJP, Surjewala said I want to clearly state that Congress govt is stable in Rajasthan and we will complete the full term. No amount of conspiracy by BJP will be successful in toppling our govt in the state.
Pande, Surjewala and Ajay Maken were rushed to Jaipur ahead of the meeting amid a power tussle between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot.
Pilot, who is also the president of the state unit of the party, on Tuesday night claimed he has the support of 30 MLAs and the Gehlot government is now in minority. The claim has been rejected by the Congress.
