Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh visited the blast site at Amritsar to take a first hand review of the situation according to media reports . The blast that took place had claimed three lives. Three persons, including a preacher, were killed and 20 others injured when two-motorcycle borne men threw a grenade on a religious congregation on the outskirts of Amritsar.
The incident took place inside the Nirankari Bhavan’s prayer hall at Adliwal village near Amritsar’s Rajasansi, police said. A religious congregation of the Nirankari followers was being conducted inside the Bhavan at the time of the incident.
Navjot Singh Sidhu also accompanied the chief minister on his visit.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh Monday reviewed the security situation in the country, particularly in Punjab and was briefed on the explosion, which police are treating as a “terrorist act”.
