Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid paid tributes to former prime minister and BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary. PM Modi visited his Samadhi Sadaiv Atal to pay his tributes.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Home Minister Amit Shah, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, BJP president J P Nadda, defence Minister Rajnath Singh were among several BJP leaders who paid tributes to the stalwart.
Born in Gwalior in 1924, Vajpayee was the face of the BJP for decades and was the first non-Congress prime minister to have served a full term in office 1998 – 2004.
