Others who visited the residence to pay their tribute were Vice president Venkaiah Naidu , Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, BJP president J P Nadda.
Prime Minister Modi had a special rapport with President Pranab Mukherjee and recalled how he helped him settle down in Delhi after BJP led NDA came to power in 2014.
As India’s President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee made Rashtrapati Bhavan even more accessible to common citizens. He made the President’s house a centre of learning, innovation, culture, science and literature. His wise counsel on key policy matters will never be forgotten by me.

Meanwhile, paying his rich tribute to the late President RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said : “Pranab Mukherjee has left a void. He was generous & kind, who used to make me forget that I am talking to President of India. It was in his nature to make everyone, his own, despite political differences. He’ll be remembered always”.
