The opposition reaction to proposed One Nation, One Election by the government is now getting stronger on every passing day . After West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had expressed his views against it the Congress party has now slammed the move .
It may be recalled that the government had notified an eight-member high-level committee, which will be headed by former president Ram Nath Kovind, to examine and make recommendations for holding simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha, state assemblies, municipalities and panchayats.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote to the secretary of high-level committee for ‘One Nation One Election’, in his letter he said that Congress is strongly opposed to the idea of ‘One Nation One Election’.
