National Conference Vice- president and former Chief Minister Of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah has reacted to various issues confronting the country .

The former CM Omar was quoted by ANI saying, J&K is passing through a difficult phase. The security situation is a cause of concern, there’s no area in Kashmir that is free from militancy. There is very little economic activity barring tourism.

On the growing communalism, Religious freedom is one of the hallmarks of a democracy. India is a large democracy but a democracy cannot only be in words but it must be in deeds also. This move to control, the atmosphere of intolerance does not bode well for this country.

Omar expressed his displeasure at the news channels anchors when he said, How do you think we feel when houses of Muslims are demolished by bulldozers and TV anchors say “there will be a shortage of bulldozers soon, we will have to import more of them”…? People who we expect to be impartial, take a partial position.

On the language issue, Omar elaborated , India is too diverse a country to have a national language. The idea of India is that it gives space to everybody. If Indian currency note gives space to all languages, then it’s understood that we’re more than just one language, culture and religion .
