After the election of the speaker, the Eknath Shinde government has now won the trust vote in the assembly. It garnered 164- 99 margin . Three members abstained. That is 20 more than the majority mark .
It yet another setback to the Uddhav camp, Another Shiv Sena MLA o Santosh Bangar, switched sides and was seen with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde ahead of the Maharashtra trust vote. Bangar had left with the Shinde faction MLAs from hotel this morning and arrived with them at the assembly.
The Shinde camp now has a total of 40 Shivsena MLAs.
Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray-led camp of Shiv Sena moves Supreme Court challenging the newly appointed Maharashtra Assembly Speaker’s action of recognising the whip of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde group as the whip of Shiv Sena. Supreme Court posts the matter for hearing on July 11.
