Ending suspense over whether he will contest from Uttar Pradesh or not , former Congress president Rahul Gandhi will contest the Lok Sabha elections from the Rae Bareli seat, the constituency held by his mother Sonia Gandhi earlier.
The Rae Bareli seat was vacated by Sonia Gandhi after she became a member of the Rajya Sabha earlier this year.
Rahul Gandhi is already contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Kerala’s Wayanad district.
Gandhi is pitted against BJP candidate Dinesh Pratap Singh.
The last date of filing nominations is May 3 . It to the polls On May 20.
There was speculation that Rahul Gandhi might contest from Amethi the seat he lost to Smriti Irani in 2019 but chose not to.
