As the Lok Sabha 2019 polls come closer, Congress is still pondering over the idea to have an alliance with the AAP. In Delhi there is opposition to this move. Former Delhi Chief Minister and Delhi Congress chief Sheila Dikshit has apparently written a letter to Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Chairperson of the UPA Sonai Gandhi that the party in the long run would be harmed if it enters into an alliance with AAP.
In a letter written last week, Dikshit and working presidents Haroon Yusuf, Devender Yadav and Rajesh Lilothia protested a recent phone survey to gauge workers’ mood on the alliance.
The phone survey was done by AICC in charge of Delhi Congress P C Chacko.
The survey sought views of around 52,000 Delhi Congress workers on whether they supported the party’s alliance with the AAP in Delhi or not.
Chacko had said earlier that a report of the survey would be submitted to Gandhi who would take a final call on the issue.
