Marking a generational shift in the BJP, party president Amit Shah, filed his nomination from the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in Gujarat for the up-coming Lok Sabha polls 2019 . The seat was till now represented since 1998 by BJP patriarch L K Advani.
Among the leaders present on the occasion were Union ministers Finance Minister Arun Jaitley , Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.
Shah said he is “blessed” to contest from the seat which leaders like party veterans Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani have represented.
“This election will be fought only on the issue of who will lead the country… When I ask this question to people from Himachal to Kanyakumari and from Kamrup to Gandhinagar, I can only hear one sound – ‘Modi, Modi, Modi’.” Shah said.
