The BJP CM candidate BS Yeddyurappa had met Governor Vajubhai Vala and submitted the papers of his election as BJP’s Legislature Party leader.
According to media reports, the BJP has decided to stake claim to form the government on the basis of been the single largest party in the recently concluded assembly polls.
While leaving the Raj Bhavan, he addressed reporters with senior party leaders and said the Governor has promised to take “appropriate” decision.
“The party has chosen me. I have given the letter to the Governor and he will call me. That is what I am hoping. He told me that he will take an appropriate decision. I’ll inform you after I receive a letter from the Governor,” he says.
Earlier, BS Yeddyurappa was been elected as the House leader at the BJP’s Legislature Party meeting.
Meanwhile, Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar, Dharmendra Pradhan and JP Nadda arrived for the BJP Legislature Party meeting in at party office in Bengaluru.
“Many legislators unhappy with Congress-JD(S) alliance… We will form the government in a democratic way. People want BJP government and we will make it. Anyone can create unnatural tensions, but people of Karnataka are with us. After the meeting, we will take necessary steps. This attempt by the Congress to make a backdoor entry is not appreciated. Bitter enemies coming together for their convenience is unethical,” said Javadekar.
