Rebel AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran in stunning statement has stated that his aunt VK Sasikala had video of late chief minister J Jayalalithaa. That the video would be provided to the probe committee, according to ANI.
Dhinakaran was responding to reporters in the wake of a controversy over minister Dindigul C Sreenivasan’s confession about lying on former CM’s health condition.
Jayalalithaa was admitted to hospital on September 22 night.”CCTV footages are available with the hospital. We have a footage shot by Chinnamma (Sasikala), after insisted by Jayalalithaa over her weight loss,” Dhinakaran said, adding that the ailing leader was in night wear and was watching television when the video was shot.
“When asked by him (pointing to his supporter and R K Nagar poll incharge, P Vetrivel) if the footage could be used during R K Nagar bypolls, Sasikala said no. She told us to seek setting up inquiry commission ourselves and submit it at an appropriate time. We are ready to give to any inquiry panel, CBI or whatever. We are not scared,” Dhinakaran said.
Dhinakaran, however, alleged that chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami had announced an inquiry commission led by a retired judge to convince O Panneerselvam to join hands. “Rather than a retired judge, it should be by a sitting judge,” he said
The mystery over Jayalalithaa’s death has only deepened after Tamil Nadu minister C Sreenivasan sought people’s forgiveness for “lying” about the condition of her health during her stay at Apollo Hospital.
Speaking at a public meeting in Madurai, around 500 kilometres from Chennai on Friday night, Sreenivasan said: “We would have told lies that she (Jayalalithaa) had idlis and people met her. The truth is that nobody saw her.”
Sreenivasan said he is seeking apology from the people now for “those lies”. According to him, everyone in the government and in the ruling AIADMK party “lied about the people” who met Jayalalithaa at Apollo Hospital, where she was admitted on 22 September last year.
Sreenivasan said even the national leaders used to sit in Apollo Hospitals Chief Pratap Reddy’s room and the AIADMK ministers would also be seated in that room.
“We all lied then so that the party’s secret did not get leaked,” Sreenivasan said. He said nobody met Jayalalithaa in her hospital room.
