Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has assured his film ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ has nothing inappropriate, after the censor board chief recently objected to a word in the promo of the movie. Pahlaj Nihalani, the chief of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), had asked to delete the word ‘intercourse’ from one of the mini-promos of the film for TV, saying he would retain it if he gets one lakh votes in its favour.
Now that Nihalani has received one lakh votes, Shah Rukh was asked about his reaction. “The way people have voted, they should come and watch the film too. I’ve said this before as well, we respect the Central Board of Film Certification a lot, they are doing their job, we are doing ours.”
“Having said that, I don’t think in the context of the film there is anything objectionable,” Shah Rukh Khan said at a special event where he launched the new song of ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ here last evening.
The entire team of the film along with Shah Rukh Khan, co-star Anushka Sharma and director Imtiaz Ali, went club hopping to launch the song ‘Beech Beech Mein’. This is the second song from the film which came out after five mini promos and a celebratory track ‘Radha’.
“The idea of coming out with the mini trails was very difficult. Once I had asked Shah Rukh Khan how can we cut a trailer for this film as there is so much happening in the film. I am happy that people are responding to it (mini trails) positively,” Anushka said. The film is scheduled to release on August 4.
