Electing to bat after RCB skipper Virat Kohli won the toss , the team got a fine start a flyer to say with openers – Aaron Finch (47) some form finally and lusty hitting by left- hander Devdutt Padikkal (32).
But the real momentum and the imposing total of 194 for 2 in twenty overs was possible due to the batting master class by South African legend A B De Villiers . ABD as he is famously called toyed with the KKR bowling and smashed a power packed unbeaten 73 of mere 33 balls studded with 5 fours and six sixes and strike rate of 221. 21. Skipper Virat gave him company and remained unbeaten on 33 made of 28 balls.
KKR bowlers were sent on a leather hunt and their figures said it all . Pat Cummins 0/38 (4 overs), Prasidh Krishna 1/42 (4 overs), Andre Russell 1/51 ( 4 overs) , Varun Chakravarthy 0/25 ( 4 overs), Kamlesh Nagarkoti 0 /36 ( 4 overs). The absence of Sunil Narine was felt by KKR surely.

In reply the Kolkata Knight Riders simply collapsed like a pack of cards . The batting display was forgettable. The team could reach 112/ 9 in their twenty overs. And hence lost by 82 runs. Shubman Gill ( 34 ) , Andre Russell ( 16), Rahul Tripathi ( 16) were the only batsmen to reach double figures.
For RCB , the bowling was spot on, South African Chris Morris had another fine game 2/17 (4 overs). And backed up well by Yuzvendra Chahal 1/12 (4 overs), Washington Sundar 2/20 ( 4 overs), Navdeep Saini 1/17 (3 overs), Mohammed Siraj 1/ 24 ( 3 overs), Isuru Udana 1/ 19 ( 2 overs)
