Struggling for poor form Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma finally found his touch. Scoing an unbeaten half- century , Rohit saw his team beat Chennai Super Kings by 8 wickets during an IPL encounter in Pune.
Rohit hit 56 from 33 balls as Mumbai registered their only their second victory in seven games.Opener Evin Lewis (47 off 43) , Suryakumar Yadav (44) had laid the platform for the chase with a fine 69 runs partnership for the first wicket.
Mumbai raced 173 for two in 19.4 overs after their bowlers did a fine job restricting the powerful CSK to 169 for five with Mitchell McClenagahan and Krunal Pandya picking up two wickets each.
McClenaghan halted CSK’s progress with his double strike, in the 18th over. Dhoni hit a full toss straight to Evin Lewis at deep cover before Dwayne Bravo mishit the pull shot. Dashing their hopes of a 180 plus total effectively.
Suresh Raina was the CSK star with his 75 off mere 46 balls. Ambati Rayudu in great from this season played another fine knock 46 off 35 balls. Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 26 off 21 balls as CSK reached below par total of 169 .
It was Mumbai’s only second win in 7 matches in the IPL 2018.
