After a rather poor outing in the first T20 , Rohit Sharma led India bounced back to level the three match T20 series with a 7 wicket win at Auckland.
A fine bowling effort by India had restricted New Zealand after they won the toss and batted first. they could post a below par 158/ 8 in their 20 overs. They could manage this far thanks to fifth wicket stand between Colin de Grandhomme and Ross Taylor who put on 77 runs. Colin de Grandhomme was brilliant with a superb 50 off 28 balls while Taylor chipped in with a 42 off 36 balls.

In reply India were strong this time and the target was modest 159 . Skipper Rohit Sharma found some form with a timely 50. Shikhar Dhawan scored 30 before they were out. Rishabh Pant got runs under his belt and remained unbeaten on 40 off 28 balls. Mahendra Singh Dhoni unbeaten on 20 off 17 balls along with Pant guided India home. Vijay Shankar was the third batsman to be dismissed for 14 . India finished at 162 / 3 in 18. 5 overs
