India have taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the five match ODI series against New Zealand . They won the second ODI by a convincing 90 runs at the Bay Oval in Taurang.
Electing to bat after skipper Virat Kohli won the toss on rather flat track, the Indian batting showed its prowess. Opener Rohit Sharma showed the intent and the aggression hitting power packed 87 . He was well supported by Shikhar Dhawan who too struck his second successive 50 a fine 66. The duo set the platform for big Indian total putting ona superb 154 run stand.
Even after they were dismissed , the runs kept flowing Skipper Virat Kohli (43) , Ambati Rayudu (47), Mahendra Singh Dhoni too got going scoring a quick 48 off 33 balls and was unbeaten. Kedar Jadhav played a nice cameo 22 off 10 balls. India reached an imposing 324 / 4

Chasing a big Indian total was big ask and the kiwis found it hard when they batted. regular wickets hurt them badly. Adding to their woes were their flop show against spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Kuldeep picked up his second four-wicket haul in succession, as he took four for 45, while Bhuvneshwar and Chahal claimed two wickets each.
For the Kiwis Dough Bracewell top -scored with 57 , Tom latham 34, Skipper Kane Williamson 20 and Ross Taylor 22 in yet another poor batting display. Kiwis were eventually bowled out for 234.
