In her just over a decade old career in Bollywood, Anushka Sharma has managed to not only carve a niche for herself but also become the industry’s most bankable actress. The actress is always high on energy . enthusiasm and spontaneous in her acting skills. And she has not shied away from experimenting either. That has helped her evolve as an actress of substance.
She has come a long way since her debut opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the highly successful romantic film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008). Since then there was no looking back . Series of big films with big directors and superstars saw her rise steadily and make her presence felt .
She starred in Yash Raj Films’ romances Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) and Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012. Opposite Ranveer Singh and Shah Rukh Khan respectively.
2015 crime thriller NH 10 saw her display her acting prowess. She sparkled as dancer in Zoya Akhtar’s 2015 film Dil Dhadakne Do. Big films opposite big stars were in her kitty. establishing herself as the number one actress
Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2016 with Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan saw Anushka make hold her own and make an impact. Sultan opposite superstar Salman Khan ( 2016), Raj Kumar Hirani’s PK opposite Aamir Khan in 2014 saw her hit the bull’s eye at the Box- office. In 2018 she starred in Sanju , biopic on superstar Sanjay Dutt with Ranbir Kapoor in the title role. It was a Blockbuster at the Box- office smashing many records.
But amidst the highs there were lows too fro Anushka , 2017 film Phillauri, co-starring Suraj Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh, 2018 mystery drama Pari , Imtiaz Ali’s Jab Harry Met Sejal with superstar Shah Rukh Khan , Sui Dhaaga with Varun Dhawan and zero with Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in 2018 did not create magic at the Box- office. Though her roles were appreciated.
As she turns 31 , one hopes to see this talented actress do more challenging roles ahead. As a producer with a banner called Clean Slate films one hopes to see different genres of films from her.
When she is not acting in films, Anushka Sharma is head- turner with her classy fashion sense and blazing magazine covers. Plus she is often seen at various cricket venues around the world cheering for her husband- Virat Kohli, superstar and Captain of the Indian cricket team .
