Congress leader and former Union minister Mani Shankar Aiyar has once again created ripples in the political circles with his comments . This time he has gone ahead and called former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao the “first BJP PM” of the country.
As per ANI report, Asked about his remark, Mani Shankar Aiyar said that he had said this in one of books long time back, and added that he still stands by what he said.
“I haven’t written it (in the new book launched), I said it yesterday…I wrote that in a different book of mine. What I said yesterday that he wasn’t ours but BJP’s first Prime Minister is something that I wrote years ago…I stand by what I said,” Mani Shankar Aiyar was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
P V Narasimha Rao was Prime Minister from 1991-96 . Aiyar shocked many by further by saying Rao Not Atal Behari Vajpayee was BJP’s First Prime Minister.
The Congress leader, who served as India’s consul general in Karachi from December 1978-January 1982, has dedicated a full chapter to his Pakistan stint in his autobiography “Memoirs of a Maverick — The First Fifty Years (1941-1991)” that hit the stands recently.
