Delhi Chief Secretary Attack Case : Kejriwal, Sisodia And 11 AAP MLA’s Charged For Assault

The assault on the Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash has taken a new turn. In a major trouble for the ruling AAP government in Delhi, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia and 11 other MLAs were charged for assault .

Kejriwal and Sisodia have been booked under various sections of the IPC, including sections 120B (Punishment of criminal conspiracy), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of duty) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace).

The chief minister was earlier questioned by the police in connection with the alleged assault case.

His private secretary Bibhav Kumar was also interrogated. Police had also questioned the 11 MLAs who were present at the chief minister’s residence for the meeting on February 19 in which Prakash was allegedly attacked.

The latest development is now set to spark off another face- off between the ministers of the Delhi government and the bureaucrats.

Already the AAP government is at loggerheads with the Lt Governor Anil Baijal on host of issues and it needed the intervention of the Supreme Court to restore governance in the capital. Kejriwal has had a cold relations with the Centre and now with the chargesheet the bitter feud is only likely to eascalate.
