India Skipper Suryakumar Yadav could not hide joy on his face after he had finally won a toss  and promptly opted to bowl first in the third T20I against Australia at the picturesque ground  at Hobart.

Australia began with the dangerous duo of Skipper Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head. Head’s lean run continued as he was caught by SKY for 6 off Arshdeep Singh.  Josh Inglis too did not last long out for 1 caught by Axar Patel off Arshdeep Singh. Arshdeep was impressive in his opening spell as he rocked Australia with his double strike and figures of 2/11. Like Hazlewood, Head too leaves the T20I series for the Ashes preparation.

Australia reeling at 14/2 needed some fireworks to get on track . And the big Tim David did just that. David is a big man with power arms and shoulders and he quickly took the attack to the Indian bolwing in his blazing fashion with some breathtaking power shots. Dropped on 20 by Washington Sundar of Bumrah he made India pay heavily for the drop catch with his blistering innings.

It was typical Tim David Innings that gave Aussie the momentum. He hit shots for fours with amazing power and maximums with ease and power. David was belligerant in his stunning  74 ( 38 balls , 8 fours , 5 sixes)  .

Mitchell Marsh found hard to move on out for 13. Mitchell Owen bowled for 0. Aussies were in spot of  bother.  All- rounder Marcus Stoinis came good with the bat at the righ time and played a fine attacking iinngs of 64 ( 39 balls , 8 fours 2 sixes) , Matthew Short was not out 26 and Xavier Bartlett not out 3 as Australia could manage 186/6 in their 20 overs.

For India , Arshdeep Singh was outstanding with 3/35 ( 4 overs) showed he valuable he is in white ball cricket especially T20I’s. Jasprit Bumrah 0/26 ( 4 overs), Varun Chakaravarthy 2/33 ( 4 overs), Axar Patel 0/35 ( 4 overs), Shivam Dube 1/43 ( 3 overs) , Abhishek Sharma 0/13 ( 1 over)

With No Josh Hazlewood in the  Aussie bowling line- up. India were the favourites to win

India in reply began with in- form Abhsishek Sharma and he straight away was in action as he raced away to 25 ( 16 balls, 2 fours, 2 sixes). The start was there but Abhishek could not carry on this time as he was dismissed by A wily nathan Ellis bouncer.  Abhishek’s fellow opening partner Shubman Gill’s poor run continued as he was dismissed for 15 .  Skipper Suryakumar Yadav threatened a big but for for 11 ball 24. Tilak Varma was out for 29. Axar Patel scored 17. India  chase suddenly looked tricky.

Washington Sundar who strangely did not bowl showed his impact with the bat as he  used the inexperiance of the Aussie bowling attack to score a fine unbeaten 49 ( 23 balls, 3 fours, 4 sixes) and with Jitesh Sharma not out 22  ( 13 balls, 3 fours) saw India home by 5 wickets . India reaching 188/5 in 18. 3 overs.
