The BCCI has announced the 15-man India squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. The squad sees a return of former India captain Virat Kohli and current T20 vice-captain KL Rahul.
Superstar Virat Virat Kohli had asked for rest given his poor form will be hoping that the break does him world of good . After recurring injuries K L Rahul is back in the team as Rohit Sharma’s deputy . Rishabh Pant is the first choice wicket- keeper. Dinesh Karthik who has impressed all with his finishing ability retains his place .
Deepak Hooda finds a place with his impressive showing as well . Missing out from the team are Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer.
With Jasprit Burah ruled out due to back injury, The seam will be handled by seasoned Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh. The spin will be in hands of Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal , Ravi Bishnoi, Ravindra Jadeja . Axar Patel misses out.

According to BCCI, Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel were not available for selection owing to injuries. They are currently undergoing rehab at the NCA in Bengaluru. Three players – Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Deepak Chahar have been named as standbys.
