After the gripping Test series in England, there is no rest for Indian cricketers. The ODI squad with some Test players head straight to UAE for the 14th edition of the Asia Cup.
A tournament that features six teams in a battle for Asian supremacy. In the opening encounter on September 15, will see five time winners Sri Lanka taking on Bangladesh .
The biggest encounter though remains the clash between the sub- continental giants India and Pakistan scheduled on September 19. It should be cracker of a contest.
India have rested regular skipper Virat Kohli given his huge work load and a long tour of England. ODI vice -captain Rohit Sharma will lead the side.
The last time Rohit captained India in a tri-series was in Sri Lanka in Nidahas trophy 2018 where India beat Bangladesh courtesy a Dinesh Karthik Last ball six in the final.
