Delhi Capitals produced an all- round show in Mumbai To rout Punjab Kings by 6 wickets . Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to field first.
Punjab with Skipper K L Rahul and Mayank Agarwal put on superb first wicket partnerships scoring 122 in 12. 4 overs . Mayank Agarwal was aggressive in his 36 ball 69 with 7 fours and four sixes. K L Rahul celebrated his 29th birthday with a fine knock of 61 off 51 balls with 7 fours and two sixes. After the duo fell the innings which threatened to be over 200 plus given the start could manage 195/ 4 in their 20 overs . Other Punjab batsmen found the going tough – Universe Boss Chris Gayle ( 11), Deepak Hooda unbeaten ( 22) , Nicholas Pooran ( 8), Shahrukh Khan not out 15.

Delhi Capitals in reply began positively with openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan. The duo put on 59 for the first wicket in quick time in 5. 3 overs. Shaw was out aftyer he had scored a quick 17 ball 32 with three fours and two sixes. But it was the experienced Shikhar Dhawan whose blistering innings stunned Paunjab and helped Delhi win the match with ease . Dhawan was majestic in his brutal 49 ball 92 . His innings studded with 13 fours and two sixes. Punjab bowlers had no clue where to bowl to him. Steve Smith did not shine and was out 9. Skipper Rishabh Pant scored 15. Dhawan had ensured the match in Delhi’s grip and hard- hitting all- rounder Marcus Stoinis gave the finishing touches with his powerful shots and remained unbeaten with a 13 ball 27 ( 3 fours , 1 six), Lalit Yadav was the other batsman remaining not out at 12 off 6 balls. Stoinis in particular hammered Mohammed Shami towards the end. Delhi finishing off the match in style in 18.4 overs and 10 balls to spare reaching 198/4 .
