Aggressive Aussie opener David Warner proved that he is back and is roaring to have a go at the 2019 ICC World Cup. The explosive opener ended his IPL 2019 campaign for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in superb style. Powering his side to an emphatic 45 run win over the Kings XI Punjab.
Warner played the way he plays best demolishing the bowling attack with a yet another blistering knock. He scored a masterly 81 off mere 56 balls studded with seven fours and two sixes. It was his eight fifty and he finishes the tournament with an astonishing 692 runs.
Warner show helped SRH post an imposing target of 212/ 6 in their 20 overs. Others who chipped in with valuable runs were. Wriddhiman Saha ( 28), Manish Pandey ( 36 ), Mohammad Nabi ( 20)
For the Kings the wicket- takers were , Mohammed Shami 2/ 36 ( 4 overs) , Skipper Ravichandran Ashwin 2/ 30 ( 4 overs) , Murugan Ashwin 1/ 32 ( 4 overs) , Arshdeep Singh 1/ 42 ( 4 overs) , Mujeeb Ur Rahman had a forgettable match with figures 0/ 66 ( 4 overs)
In reply, The Kings chasing big total lost Universe Boss Chris Gayle ( 4) to Khaleel Ahmed. K L Rahul , in fine form this season played well again to score a fine 56 ball 79 with four fours and five sixes. Mayank Agarwal ( 27), Nicholas Pooran ( 21) , David Miller ( 11) failed to get going and the Kings slumped to defeat. They could manage only 167/ 8 in their 20 overs.
For SRH, star bowler Rashid Khan was once again the wrecker-in chief with fine figures of 3/ 21 ( 4 overs) , Khaleel Ahmed took 3/ 40 ( 4 overs) , Sandeep Sharma 2/ 33 ( 4 overs)
