Chennai Super Kings showed once again why they are so good at home. On a slow pitch and a low scoring match the chennai beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets .
CSK skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and had no hesitation in asking KKR to bat first. And his bowlers vindicated his decision . All the bowlers joined the party and took wickets to demoralise KKR. Early wickets did the dame and the match was just a formality rom there on.
The KKR batting flopped fore the first time Chris Lynn ( 0) Sunil Narine ( 6 ) , Robin Uthappa ( 11), Nitish Rana ( 0) , skipper Dinesh Karthik ( 19 ) Shub Man Gill ( 9) . Only solace for them was Andre Russell who remained unbeaten and batted according to the situation to score 1 42 ball 50 . It was Russell’s innings that helped KKR reach the tree figure mark . A dismal 108/ 9 in their 20 overs.
CSK were on top thanks to their bowlers . Deepak Chahar started the KKR slide with early wickets . His figures were impressive 3/ 20 ( 4 overs ) wily experienced Harbhajan Singh bowling as well as ever took 2/ 15 ( 4 overs), Ravindra Jadeja 1/ 17 ( 4 overs) , Imran Tahir 2/ 21 ( 4 overs) it was a splendid show.
Chasing a low total, CSK were on target and were hardly troubled . Shane Watson fell for 17, Suresh Raina’s poor form continued he fell for 14, Ambati Rayudu scored ( 21) . But the KKR target was not big enough to test the CSK Faf Du Plessis unbeaten on 45 and Kedar Jadhav not out 8 saw CSK home n 17. 2 overs and by seven wickets
