Uttarakhand’s BJP Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has won the Champawat bypoll by a margin of 55,025 votes. Leading from the front, Dhami , 46, steered the Bharatiya Janata Party through choppy waters to a mammoth victory in the Uttarakhand assembly election this year.
It may be recalled that in the assembly elections held earlier in Uttarakhand , Pushkar Singh Dhami was defeated in his Khatima constituency by Congress’s Bhuwan Chand Kapri by over 6,000 votes. Hence the Bypoll win was need to stay on as Chief Minister .
Soon after victory announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted his congratulations as he wrote, Congratulations to Uttarakhand’s dynamic CM@pushkardhamifor the record win from Champawat.
