Congress leader in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge has come out in support of the under fire Gandhis after the party’s abysmal performance in the five state polls.
Kharge was quoted by ANI as saying, “We all told Sonia Gandhi that she alone is not responsible for the defeat in 5 states, every state leader and MP is responsible, not the Gandhi family. We reimposed our faith in her, there’s no question of offering resignation.
“Strategies for strengthening the party were discussed. We will fight BJP and its ideology; push our ideology and hope that in the next elections, we do much better than before.”
Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury told ANI, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi said that she along with her family members Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are ready to sacrifice* for the party, but we all rejected this.
