With new skipper in Shreyas Iyer (who led Kolkata Knight Riders to victory last year) Punjab Kings who have always performed in patches will aim to be consistent this time around . Apart from the 2014 season when they topped the league table and finished runners-up, the team has made only one other playoff appearance.
Aussie Legend Ricky Ponting is the Head coach of the team. Ponting moved on from Delhi Capitals. So Punjab is keeping fingers crossed on the Shreyas Iyer- Ricky Ponting combination.
The team co- owned by Bollywood actress Preity Zinta was smart at the auction which saw many Aussie presence in the side – Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis courtesy Ponting . With Shreyas Iyer as Skipper the team looks good on paper.

The Bowling seems to have bases covered with Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, Lockie Ferguson Yuzvendra Chahal, Vyshak Vijay Kumar, Yash Thakur, Kuldeep Sen. A pretty decent line-up must say.
