In a widely expected move ahead of Tata IPL 2024 , Sunrisers Hyderabad have named Australia’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and WTC Championship 2023 winning Captain Pat Cummins as the new skipper of the franchise . Cummins replaces South African Aiden Markram.
Cummins also had dream run with Australia retaining the Ashes 2-2 against arch rivals England.
Cummins was bought by the franchise for a whopping Rs 20.5 crore, the second most expensive in the cash rich tournament history.

During the ICC 2023 50-over cricket World Cup Pat Cummins showed excellent leadership qualities and despite getting off to a poor start, inspired the team to glory at the end .
