Sanju Samson led Rajasthan Royals came out with a perfect all – round game to beat the Lucknow Super Giants by 24 run s in the 63rd match of the Tata IPL 2022 at the Brabourne stadium.
RR skipper Sanju Samson chose to bat after winning the toss . Orange cap holder Jos Buttler was out early for ( 2). But other opener Yashasvi Jaiswal kept the intent going with 29 ball 41 ( 6 fours, 1 six) . Skipper Sanju Samson scored a 24 ball 32 with six fours. Devdutt Padikkal hit a blazing 18 ball 39 ( 5 fours, 2 sixes) to put the RR innings on track . Riyan Parag ( 19). Jimmy Neesham ( 14) chipped in useful runs. Ravichandran Ashwin (10) and Trent Boult (17) remained not out towards the end as the Royals finished at 178/ 6 in their 20 overs.

In reply the Lucknow Super Giants were rocked early on by twin strikes by Trent Boult who got rid off Quinton de Kock ( 7) and Ayush Badoni ( 0). When Prasidh Krishna had LSG skipper K L Rahul for ( 10) the innings was in tatters. In fine form this season Deepak Hooda scored a 39 ball 59 ( 5 fours, 2 sixes) to keep the hopes alive. Krunal Pandya was dismissed for ( 25) and the big hope Marcus Stoinis struggled with his timing and big shots he is famous for never came and he was out for ( 27) . LSG could manage only 154 / 8 in their 20 overs. Royals winning by 24 runs.
For Royals : Trent Boult was superb upfront and showed why he is best left arm bowler in world cricket today with fine figures of 2/ 18 ( 4 overs), Prasidh Krishna 2/ 32 ( 4 overs), Obed McCoy 2/ 35 ( 4 overs) , Ravichandran Ashwin 1/ 24 ( 4 overs) , Yuzvendra Chahal 1/ 42 ( 4 overs). It was solid bowling show by the Royals.
Both RR and LSG are now tied on 16 points from 13 matches and need another win to confirm their place in the next stage of the tournament. Thanks to their margin of victory, RR also toppled LSG from the second place.
