Royal Challengers Bangalore strengthened their play-offs spot as they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by a convincing 67 runs in the 54th match of the Tata IPL 2022 on hot afternoon at Wankhede stadium .
Faf du Plessis RCB skipper won the toss and decided to bat first. To his horror Virat Kohli was out in the first ball of the match ( 0) his third duck in this season. Jagadeesha Suchith bagged the prized Kohli wicket caught by Kane Williamson.
But RCB was unfazed . Skipper Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar put RCB on track with a superb partnership putting on 105 for the second wicket. Patidar was unlucky not to get to his fifty out for 48 ( 38 balls, 4 fours, 2 sixes). Du Plessis on the other hand carried his bat all the way and remained unbeaten 73 off 50 balls ( 8 fours, 2 sixes) thus playing a Captain’s knock . Glenn Maxwell soon joined the party and stroked a quick 24 ball 33 with 3 fours and 2 sixes.
But It was Dinesh Karthik in sublime form this season and finishing like no one in this season blasted a stunning 8 ball 30 not out in the end . Karthik’s blitz saw 1 four and 4 sixes. RCB finished off the innings in style scoring 25 off the last over by Fazalhaq Farooui. The last over read : 2,1,6,6,6,4. RCB finishing at a fine 192/ 3 in their 20 overs. SRH were also let down by sloppy fielding as they dropped many catches which would cost them dearly in the end .
