Needing to win to get their momentum back in the tournament , Delhi Capitals came out with all guns blazing and routed the Punjab Kings by 9 wickets in the 32 match of the Tata IPL 2022 at Brabourne stadium. The match was originally scheduled to be played in Pune.
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bowl against Punjab Kings. And Delhi bowlers were all over Punjab batsmen right form the start.
Punjab Skipper Mayank Agarwal scored 24 . Shikhar Dhawan ( 9) , Jonny Bairstow ( 9) in- from Liam Livingstone ( 2) , Jitesh Sharma ( 32) , Shahrukh KHan ( 12) meants The Kings were bundled out for the lowest score by a team in this year’s Tata IPL 2022 that of 115/10 in their 20 overs.
Delhi bowlers were spot on : Khaleel Ahmed 2/ 21 ( 4 overs) , Axar Patel 2/ 10 ( 4 overs) , Kuldeep Yadav 2/24 ( 4 overs) , Lalit Yadav 2/11 ( 2 overs), Mustafizur Rahman 1/ 28 ( 4 overs)
In reply , Delhi were on a racing mood . Openers in- from David Warner and Prithvi Shaw blasted the Punjab bowlers all around the ground. Shaw before he got out scored a 20 ball 41 with seven fours and one six . David Warner reached his 53rd IPL fifty and remained unbeaten with another fine innings of 60 which came quick in 30 balls with 10 fours and one six .It was typical aggressive Warner innings, His good form at the top is good sign for the Delhi Capitals and augurs well for the rest of the tournament.
Fittingly Warner hit the winning runs for four . Sarfaraz Khan was the other batsman who remained not out on 12 as Delhi Capitals reached 119/ 1 in mere 10. 3 overs with nine wickets to spare. The thumping win will do Delhi’s run rate a world of good.

It was a nightmare for Punjab bowlers. But to be fair their batsmen did not give them the total to bowl at : Vaibhav Arora 0/ 31 ( 2 overs), Kagiso Rabada 0/ 35 ( 3 overs) , Arshdeep Singh 0/ 17 ( 1 over) , Nathan Ellis 0/ 15 ( 2 overs) , Rahul Chahar 1/ 21 ( 2. 3 overs)
