New Franchise Gujarat Titans continue to impress at the Tata IPL 2022. The titans once again held their nerves to clinch a thrilling 3 wicket win over the defending champions Chennai Super Kings at MCA Pune.

With regular skipper Hardik Pandya ruled out due to injury, Rashid Khan captained the Titans . Rashid won the toss and elected to field first.

CSK lost Robin Uthappa early for 3. Ruturaj Gaikwad finally came good with the bat striking a fine 48 ball 73 with five fours and five sixes. Ambati Rayudu chipped in with a quick 31 ball 46 with four fours and two sixes. Shivam Dube ( 19 ) and Skipper Ravindra Jadeja not out 22 ( 12 balls 2 sixes) saw CSK finish at 169/ 5 in their 20 overs.

In reply to the modest target, The titans were off to a horror start > Shubman Gill ( 0), Vijay Shankar ( 0) playing his first match Wriddhiman Saha ( 11) , Abhinav Manohar ( 12) . Titans were reeling at 48/ 4 in 8 overs. CSK were in total control. When dangerous Rahul Tewatia was out for 6 with the total at 87/ 5 in 12. 4 overs, the Titans were down and out . But the killer David Miller , known for his brute force played a sensational knock . Miller was unbeaten on on 51 ball 94 studded with 8 fours and six sixes. It was The David Miller of old rolling back years and his power shots. Stand in skipper Rashid Khan was superb too and gave Miller fine support with a brilliant 21 ball 40 ( 2 fours and three sixes) . David Miller, Rashid added 70 runs off 37 balls and literally took the game away from CSK grasp. It was superb comeback win. Titans reaching 170/7 in 19.5 overs)
