Gujarat Titans came out with proper intent and self belief as they produced a fine all- round effort with both and ball to rout Lucknow Super Giants by 7 wickets in a Tata IPL 2026 encounter on a hot day in Lucknow . Earlier GT Skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first .
Gill was delighted as his bowlers were on target straight away and did well to restrict the LSG batting line- up. Big scores for LSG was elusive – Aiden Markram battled hard for 30, Mitchell Marsh fell for 11, Skipper Rishabh Pant 18, Ayush Badoni 9 , Nicholas Pooran struggling could score 19 , Abdul Samad 18, Mukul Choudhary 18 , George Linde 16. Mohammed Shami not out 12 , Avesh Khan not out 4 as LSG somehow managed a a modest total of 164/8 in their 20 overs.
GT Bowling , Barring Kagiso Rabada who was expensive 1/54 ( 4 overs), the others were on the money Mohammed Siraj 1/19 ( 4 overs), Ashok Sharma 2/32 ( 4 overs), Prasidh Krishna impressive 4/28 ( 4 overs), Rashid Khan 0/25 ( 4 overs)
In reply , GT were in cruise mode . Sai Sudharsan falling early for 15 made no diffrence . Skipper Shubman Gill was in his fluent self scoring a fine 56 ( 40 balls, 6 fours, 1 six), English legend Jos Buttler finding his form with back-toback fifties scoring 60 ( 37 balls , 11 fours) . LSG could get three wickets only , GT were in command . Washington Sundar not out 21 and Rahul Tewatia not out 10 saw GT home in style reaching 165/3 in 18. 4 overs.
