The dangerous Tristan Stubbs was run-out in mix up with K L Rahul for 7 .
The onus of the chase now rested on K L Rahul and David Miller. Vipraj Nigam was out for 12 . Miller had to retire hurt in the middle of the innings but came on to bat later on . K L Rahul took the fight to GT and acored a brilliant 92 ( 52 balls , 11 fours, 4 sixes). Rahul missed well- desrved hundred.
Returning to bat again after injury break David Miller was in imperious mood and threated to take the match away from GT . Miller singlehandedly brought back Delhi Capitals in the game with a couple of cracking sixes and a four in a 23-run penultimate over from Mohammed Siraj. GT skipper Gill after hectic consulktations handed the final over to experienced Prasidh Krishna who was left to defend 13 off the last six balls.
Vipraj Nigam departed after a four off the first ball, leaving Miller with 8 to get off the last three balls. Miller decided to take the match deep as he refused a single off the penultimate delivery with score needed 2 off 2 . A single would have taken the match to super over. But in Brain fade moment Miller did not trust partner Kuldeep Yadav. In the final ball a slow one from Krishna, Miller swung but missed missed and Jos Buttler having taken one glove off broke down the stumps before Kuldeep could make it. DC lost by 1 run.
