The 18-year wait finally came to an end as a gritty and hungry  Royal Challengers Bengaluru won their first IPL Title. They beat Punjab Kings by 6 runs in a thrilling Tata IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi stadium , Ahmedabad.

It was a fitting win for ‘King Kohli ‘as legendary Virat Kohli added the one trophy missing in his outstanding career. A franchise with whom Virat had stayed on since it began 18 years ago. Truly a fairytale and the wait worth gold.

Earlier, Punja Kings Skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first. RCB found the going tough as Kings bowlers bolwed to their field. Dangerous RCB opener Philip Salt out for 16. Virat Kohli struggled to score quickly though top-scoring with 43 ( 35 balls, 3 fours).

The rest of the RCB batting saw scores like – Mayank Agarwal 24, Liam Livingstone 25 , Rajat Patidar 26, Jitesh Sharma 24, Romario Shepherd 17 in a low scoring encounter each contribution comes in handy. Krunal Pandya 4, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 1, Yash Dayal not out 1 as RCB finished at a below par 190/9 in their 20 overs.
