Punjab Kings opener Priyansh Arya hit a scintillating power ton of 103 to help his side after a batting collapse to beat Chennai Super Kings by 18 runs in Tata IPL 2025 encounter .
Earlier, Punjab Kings Skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first . Punjab got off to a shaky start and lost regular wickets upfront making Iyer’s decision to bat first up for debate . Opener Prabhsimran Singh out for ( 0) , Skipper Shreyas Iyer ( 9) , Marcus Stoinis ( 4), Nehal Wadhera ( 9), Glenn Maxwell ( 1). Punjab were tottering at 83/ 5 in 8 overs. Half the side gone.
However unfazed by wickets falling around him talented opener Priyansh Arya showed his mettle as he smashed a scintillating power hundred to pull Punjab back in the game . Priyansh Arya was treat to watch with his attacking stroke play and scored a breathtaking 103 ( 42 balls , 7 fours and 9 sixes).

Shashank Singh who impressed lot last year played an unbeaten counter- attacking innings of 52 ( 36 balls , 2 fours, 3 sixes) and along with handy contribution an unbeaten one too from Marco Jansen 34 ( 19 Balls , 2 fours , 2 sixes). The duo took the score to a respectable if not daunting 219/ 6 in their 20 overs. It was a tremendous comeback when they were down five wickets withing 10 overs.
CSK bowling fell apart later on and figures say it all : Khaleel Ahmed 2/ 45 ( 4 overs) , Mukesh Choudhary 1/ 21 ( 2 overs) , Ravichandran Ashwin 2/ 48 ( 4 overs) , Ravindra Jadeja 0/ 18 ( 3 overs) , Noor Ahmad 1/ 32 ( 3 overs) , Matheesha Pathirana 0/ 52 ( 4 overs)
In reply CSK , which needed a good start for the chase 220 got off to a steady start with the Kiwi duo Of Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway. The pair put on 61 for the first wicket in 6. 3 overs, Rachin was out for 36 ( 26 balls , 6 fours) .
CSK Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was out cheaply for 1 with total at 62/ 2 in 7. 2 overs. Shivam Dube and Conway put together a good partnership before Dube fell for 42 ( 27 balls , 2 fours, 2 sixes) .
Conway was soon retired out for 68 ( 50 balls , 7 fours, 2 sixes) and replaced by Ravindra Jadeja who joined Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the middle . MSD hit some big sixes but was out for 27( 12 balls, 1 four, 2 sixes) in the final over first ball . Ravindra Jade ja not out 9, Vijay Shankar not out 2. CSK finishing at 202/ 4 . Punjab Kings winning by 18 runs . A win that was delight for team co- owner Preity Zinta who was in the stands cheering her team .
