#TATAIPL-2025-04 : Ashutosh Sharma’s Sensational Blitz Helps Delhi Capitals Stun Lucknow Super Giants By 1 wicket

Ashutosh Sharma in his debut for Delhi Capitals  played a blistering   unbeaten innings and  with support from Vipraj Nigam helped Delhi Capitals stun Lucknow Super Giants by 1  wicket in sensational Tata IPl 2025 encounter.  It was an  edge of the seat thriller . DC bouncing back from 65/ 5 to win is really mind- blowing.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals Skipper Axar Patel won the toss and opted to bowl first on a good batting surface.

Lucknow Super Giants got off to a blazing start with their two explosive openers – Mitchell Marsh ( returning after injury as a batsman) and Aiden Markram.  at the total of 46 in 4.4 overs , Aiden Markram was out for ( 15) . His opening partner though was in terrific form. Mitchell Marsh hit some power shots all around . It was brute power from big the Aussie who has battled many injuries in his career. Marsh blasted a scintillating  36 ball 72 ( 6 fours, 6 sixes).

The LSG onslaught was continued by Nicholas Pooran ( dropped on 17) he maid the DC bowlers pay with his range of power shots . Pooran  like Mitchell Marsh was aggressive in his 75 ( 30 balls , 6 fours, 7 sixes) . LSG Skipper Rishabh Pant disappointed as he was out for 0. LSG suffered a mini batting collapse as they lost some  quick  wickets – Ayush Badoni ( 4), Shardul Thakur ( 0) , Shahbaz Ahmed ( 9), Ravi Bishnoi ( 0) .

David Miller was running out of partners . In the final over,  Miller did connect some big  maximums and remained not out on 27 ( 19 balls  , 1 four , 2 sixes) . Digvesh Rathi was the other not out batsman with 0 . LSG which threatened 230- 240 at one stage ended up at 209/ 8 in their 20 overs.

Delhi Capitals  Bowling :  After rusty start Mitchell Starc found his range 3/ 43 ( 4 overs) Axar Patel was tight  in his  0/ 18 ( 3 overs) spell , Vipraj Nigam 1/ 35 ( 2 overs) , Mukesh Kumar 1/ 22 ( 2 overs) , Kuldeep Yadav 2/ 20 ( 4 overs) on target as usual. Mohit Sharma 0/ 42( 4 overs) , Tristan Stubbs 0/ 28 ( 1 over)

In reply Delhi Capitals batting fell like pack of cards .  Opener Jake Fraser-McGurk ( 1) , Abishek Porel ( 0) , Sameer Rizvi ( 4)  Skipper Axar Patel ( 22)  and Faf du Plessis ( 29)  . Faf du Plessis was the fifth out at  65/ 5  in 6. 4 overs.  In the DC  top 5 only  Axar and Faf reached double figures.

DC hopes rested on Tristan Stubbs and he showed intent to hit  a big one but fell for 34 ( 22 balls , 1 four, 3 sixes) . Ashutosh Sharma  gave Stubbs support from the other end.

DC were in the hunt  despite loss of wickets thanks to the brave counter- attack by Ashutosh and Vipraj Nigam . The duo put on 55 in just 23 balls . Vipraj soon fell after strategic time- out for  a blazing  39 ( 15 balls , 5 fours, 2 sixes) . Mitchell Starc fell for 2 .

Ashutosh Sharma  unbeaten,  slammed the winning six in his astonishing innings of  66 ( 31 balls, 5 fours, 5 sixes)  and  literally took the game away from LSG . .  Delhi won by 1 wicket and three balls to spare. Delhi eventually reaching 211/ 9 in 19.3 overs.

LSG skipper Rishabh Pant looked shell -shocked after the loss. while the DC dug-out was ecstatic .
