Royal Challengers Bengaluru almost made a heavy weather of the modest target by Gujarat Titans as they held their nerve to win the Tata IPL 2024 encounter by 4 wickets in Bengaluru.
Earlier RCB Skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bowl. RCB bowlers were spot on from the start and GT batsman could not get away. RCB bowling unit was backed by superb fielding effort. The pressure was too much and GT batsmen succumbed . GT opener Wriddhiman Saha ( 1), Skipper Shubman Gill in horror form ( 2) , Sai Sudharsan ( 6) fell cheaply .
Shahrukh Khan 37 ( 24 Balls , 5 fours , 1 six) was run-out by a brilliant throw by Virat Kohli . Dangerous David Miller threatened big but managed only 30 ( 20 balls, 3 fours 2 sixes). Rahul Tewatia threw his bat around 35 ( 21 balls, 5 fours, 1 six) , Rashid Khan ( 18), Vijay Shankar ( 10 ) as GT struggled hard and were eventually bowled out for 147 / 10 in 19. 3 overs. The GT misery was evident when they their total read 50 in 9. 1 overs. It summed up the RCB bowlers dominance.

After the explosive start , RCB dramatically lost wickets in a flash – Will Jacks ( 1 ) , Rajat Patidar ( 2) , Glenn Maxwell ( 4), Cameron Green ( 1) . GT bowler Joshua Little was outstanding 4/ 45 ( 4 overs)
RCB wickets tumbled in sensational fashion as Virat Kohli was the sixth batsman out for 42 ( 27 balls , 2 four, 4 sixes), RCB total 117/ 6 .
But fortunately for RCB Dinesh Karthik 21 not out ( 12 balls , 3fours) and Swapnil Singh not out 15 ( 9 balls, 2 fours, 1 six) kept their cool and guided the team home to nervy win by 4 wickets . Swapnil Singh hitting the winning shot a straight six . RCB finishing at 152/ 6 in 13. 4 overs. A chase they almost made a heavy one.
