India took revenge of their 10-wicket loss to England in the 2022 T20World Cup semis as they outclassed defending champions England by 68 runs to set- up a final clash with South Africa in the T20World Cup 2024 . In an encounter played at Providence Stadium, in Georgetown, Guyana.

Earlier ,  England Skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to field first.  India lost Virat Kohli ( 9) early yet again in forgettable tournament for him . But Skipper Rohit Sharma in fine form scored a timely 57  ( 39 balls, 6 fours , 2 sixes) , Rishabh Pant fell for ( 4) .

Suryakumar Yadav played some cracking shots to score 47  ( 36 balls , 4 fours, 2 sixes), Hardik Pandya ( 23) , Shivam Dube ( 0) , Ravindra Jadeja not out 17 , Axar Patel ( 10) and Arshdeep Singh not out 1 . India  finishing at a rain interrupted  match at 171/ 7 in their 20 overs.

English bowling figures read :  Reece Topley 1/ 25 ( 3 overs) , Jofra Archer 1/ 33 ( 4 overs) , Sam Curran 1/ 25 ( 2 overs) , Adil Rashid 1/ 25 ( 4 overs) , Chris Jordan 3 / 37 ( 3 overs) , Liam Livingstone 0/ 24 ( 4 overs)

Dramatically the Defending champions England while chasing floundered .  The dangerous Philip Salt was out early for 5 . Skipper Jos Buttler failed when it mattered out for 23  . Early jolts. Moeen Ali  ( 8) , Jonny Bairstow  ( 0) sent panic in the line- up. Hope Harry Brook scored ( 25) , Sam Curran a handy with bat out for 2 . Liam Livingstone (11). The English batting power collapsed.  Chris Jordan ( 1) , Jofra Archer (21), Adil Rashid ( 2) , Reece Topley not out 3 . England bowled out for a very disappointing 103/ 10 in 16. 4 overs. Back-to- back T20World Cup win hopes was over.  India powering home by 68 runs.

India were top class with the ball . Spinners did the talking . Backed by seamers . Arshdeep Singh 0/ 17 ( 2 overs) , Jasprit Bumrah 2/ 12 ( 2.4 overs) , Axar Patel 3/ 23 ( 3 overs), Kuldeep Yadav  3/ 19 ( 4 overs)  , Ravindra Jadeja 0/ 16 ( 3 overs) , Hardik Pandya 0/ 14 ( 1 over)

The final is great chance for Rohit Sharma to overcome the disappointment of not winning the  ICC 2023 50 over World Cup final against Australia in November 19, 2023 in Ahmedabad. In  aheart-breaking campaign the the only match they lost in the entire tournament had to be the final.

It will be  fitting way for batting legend Rahul Dravid to end his Head coach stint of the team with a World Cup win. And also end India’s long wait for an ICC trophy since  2013.
